Mcleary’s Canadian Made Quality Furniture and Mattresses is a family-owned and operated business that has been at the same location in Langley since 1979. Mcleary's sells quality furniture at the best possible price from their 11,000 sq foot showroom.

The client was looking for a clean, easy-to-maintain catalogue site, that emphasized their custom high-quality, Canadian-made products. Mcleary's wanted the images to be large as possible. They also wanted to highlight the awards they have received and the various community organizations they support.

Catalogue websites are an exercise in making complexity look simple. This website has thousands of products in hundreds of brands and categories. Most of Mcleary’s products are completely customizable, so we needed to allow users to shop and send a quote request to the sales team. However, some products have pricing; those had to go to a shopping cart.

Complex sites with various shopping possibilities need to be well thought out. How can options be added efficiently to make it easy for staff? What should be done to make the experience easier for shoppers?

Every detail needs to be thought out by the designers and programmers. Then everything needs to be implemented using best practices. The client had added products to the previous site, but the products needed to be individually cleaned up for the custom WooCommerce filtering to function.

Mcleary’s has a photographer come into their showroom regularly to photograph the product installations, so the website features galleries of showroom images. The client can tag hotspots in the photos that link to the products.

Mcleary’s has been selling furniture and mattresses in the Langley area for over 40 years. The website brings in their Google reviews dynamically, showcases the awards they have received and the various community organizations they support. It was important that the website highlight what a truly loved local business Macleary’s is.
